AEE and CES will not be overlapping in Las Vegas in 2012.

Unfortunately, there will be one major part of past AEE weekends missing in 2012. Due to scheduling anomalies, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will not be in town over any of the corresponding dates. We know… we cried too. Many are not aware that AEE and CES were once the same entity, and that is why the two shows have accompanied each other as a major joint attraction in Vegas through recent history. “This is only the second time in recent memory that the event will not overlap with C.E.S.,” said Brian Gross, a spokesman for AVN. A survey was taken a few years ago that measured about 30% of AEE fan day attendance as also attending CES. Considering the rarity of this split in events, it will be very interesting to see if one or both expos see either an increase or decline in foot traffic this year.

Winners will be announced at the 29th annual AVN awards ceremony, held on Saturday, January 21 at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

A short while ago, January to be exact, we posted a short story on some douchebaggery that took place backstage at the 2011 AVN Awards. Andy Dick was belligerently drunk and harassing stars in their dressing rooms before the show even took place.

Well, if it’s news…it is usually caught on camera somewhere in the modern age of video devices. This video turned up of Andy Dick in the middle of his alcohol induced tangent.

News from the runway at the 2011 AVN Awards this past weekend in Las Vegas, brings us a gem of a drunken Dick story.

It seems that “wasted list” comedian, Andy Dick, was thrown out of the Awards before they even had a chance to begin. In true blackout fashion, Andy allegedly wandered into an AVN Awards dressing room at the Palms Casino while slurring words and spilling his cup of beer at random.

The New York Post gossip column quoted a source as saying, “You couldn’t understand what he was saying, but you could hear Chi Chi saying, ‘Leave me alone!’ Tera grabbed Chi Chi and went into another dressing room, but boom, there he was again. This happened three or four more times. He had a cup of beer, which kept spilling. Finally, this huge security guy came over, snatched the beer out of his hand, and said, ‘That’s it, we’re going!’”

This would come as a surprise if Dick hadn’t recently both flashed his cock inside of a coffee shop, and been picked up for randomly walking into a L.A. residence during the middle of the night. It may also help that my last video memory of Andy Dick is of him blowing a carrot while wearing an altar boy wig.

Come on Andy Dick! Get your shit together. It’s not like you were the only drunk haggard comedian in Vegas. Charlie Sheen was easily as fucked up as you were, and he managed to keep his booze, his strippers, his hookers, Bree Olsen, and Michelle “Bombshell” McGee in his room the whole night. In fact, that should be your party rule.

The 2011 AVN Awards Show will take place on Saturday Jan. 8, 2011, at the Pearl Theater, inside the Palms Hotel & Casino. The show will be taped for broadcast in spring 2011 on the Showtime Network.

The event will be co-hosted by 2010 AVN Female Performer of the Year Tori Black and Digital Playground contract girl Riley Steele. A mainstream comic host will be named in the coming weeks.

“I’m excited about our mainstream host but we cannot reveal the name yet,” said Paul Fishbein, AVN founder. “We also have some great musical talent and a bunch of surprises for the show. The goal is to make it extremely entertaining, while still rewarding the industry and talent for the great work this year. I applaud all of the nominees.”

Vivid’s pick-up Malice in Lalaland (from Europe-based Miss Lucifer Productions), starring Kagney Linn Karter and Sasha Grey, garnered the most nominations for any individual title with 19 nods. Other top nominated titled include a pair of Batman parodies, BatfXXX: Dark Night from Bluebird Films and Batman XXX: A Porn Parody from Axel Braun and Vivid, with 16 each. Wicked’s Speed and New Sensations’ The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody both grabbed 15 nominations, and Digital Sin’s The Sex Files 2: A Dark XXX Parody and Bluebird’s Bonny & Clide each took 14. The big-budget Body Heat from Digital Playground and B. Skow’s first huge feature, The Condemned, nabbed 11 nominations each, while An Open Invitation: A Real Swinger’s Party in San Francisco from Private also found itself with 11 nods.

Tori Black broke an AVN Awards record with 22 individual nominations in acting and sex scene categories, while Bobbi Starr nabbed an incredible 17 individual accolades, Kristina Rose grabbed 14, Andy San Dimas 13 and Asa Akira 10. Manuel Ferrara is associated with 30 nominations as a performer, actor, director and a producer through his own line, distributed via Evil Angel.
