AEE and CES Taking Some Time Apart in 2012

The ever popular Adult Industry trade weekend of trade weekends in Las Vegas, The Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), will once again be bringing the most sought after sexual actors and actresses back to Sin City from January 18th to the 21st. As always, the Oscars of the porn world, The AVN Awards, will cap off this sindustry vacation by recognizing the best in all facets of the adult industry during 2011.

AEE and CES will not be overlapping in Las Vegas in 2012.

Unfortunately, there will be one major part of past AEE weekends missing in 2012. Due to scheduling anomalies, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will not be in town over any of the corresponding dates. We know… we cried too. Many are not aware that AEE and CES were once the same entity, and that is why the two shows have accompanied each other as a major joint attraction in Vegas through recent history. “This is only the second time in recent memory that the event will not overlap with C.E.S.,” said Brian Gross, a spokesman for AVN. A survey was taken a few years ago that measured about 30% of AEE fan day attendance as also attending CES. Considering the rarity of this split in events, it will be very interesting to see if one or both expos see either an increase or decline in foot traffic this year.

Tom Byron Pictures Receives 23 AVN Award Nominations

Tom Byron Pictures proudly announces its acquisition of 23 AVN Award nominations, one of which is for Best All-Sex Release of the Year, honoring director Ivan’s This is Why I’m Hot.

Philadelphia, PA – HotMovies.com has donated a cache of foreign-language adult DVDs to the Kinsey Institute as part of its ongoing effort to bring porn to those who need it most. The Kinsey Library was looking for more foreign language titles for their archive of erotica when HotMovies answered the call with titles from Japan, Italy, Germany, Turkey, and France.

As the world’s largest video on demand provider, HotMovies accumulates hundreds of thousands of adult DVDs for encoding purposes. While they keep a hard copy of each of the 150,000+ movies on the site, sometimes providers send duplicates. Over HotMovies’ 9 years of service, they have gathered a large amount of these duplicates; some estimate as many as 10,000.

“We wanted to send these DVDs where they would do the most good,” said HotMovies director of business development James Cybert. “The Kinsey Institute has been contributing to the science of human sexuality for more than 60 years. They have an impressive archive of academic studies, erotic art from all over the world, and now, foreign language porno DVDs from HotMovies.”

The Kinsey Institute has an impressive library of material related to human sexuality. Their erotic art collection includes all kinds of pieces from all over the world, and spans 2,000 years of human history. The Kinsey Library boasts a photography collection of 48,000 pieces. The New Jersey show just so happens to be the closest Exxxotica to the HotMovies.com headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, and it was so kind as to open on my birthday this year as well. So, our lovely marketing team decided I should be given the day to visit all of our gorgeous friends at their opening in Edison. Courtney Cummz, Prinzzess, Sarah Vandella, Mary Carey and Ron Jeremy were all in great spirits while signing autographs at the HotMovies booth. Fans and media were eager and welcome to have their favorite porno personalities sign autographs and answer questions.

HM Blog long time friend, Misti Dawn, signed with the Dirty Diablos booth directly next door to the HotMovies station. It’s always great to hang out with the nerdiest girl in porn. Belladonna and Stoya both entranced fans with their beautiful arial displays, suspending themselves high above the audience to perform erotic acrobatics. Pro-wrestling sensation, Chyna, came to support sexuality and gladly signed autographs for happy fans. Budding artist Fang Ling Lee displayed her phenomenal works of art, which are extensively collected and exhibited in major cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, New York and Las Vegas. The sexiest cars in the world gathered at EXXXOTICA New Jersey as part of The Exotic Car and Bike section. Prizes were awarded for a wide variety of classes and categories, and the exotic dancers were more than happy to pose next to magnificent machines. Speaking of notable wonder wheels, also on the expo’s floor were both the DeLorean from Back to the Future (complete with a Marty McFly lookalike) and the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo.

Video X Pix had sent us a gracious grab-bag of T-Shirts and classic adult videos to giveaway at Exxxotica, and we also had Ron Jeremy sign a limited edition HotMovies bowling shirt for one lucky fan. After spending Friday night brainstorming a good way to create some hype and give them away, we eventually worked something out with the main stage DJ to run a contest during the Miss exxxotica competition. He had the crowd chanting “hotmovies dot com! Hotmovies dot com!” over and over while he gave away our dvd’s, and we held a Ron Jeremy trivia contest to give away the bowling shirt. It was a sight to see, and was all recorded on hi def video.

Of course, the fun never ends when the convention center doors close, as the nights of EXXXOTICA NJ always heat up on both sides of the Hudson River. Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club in NYC featured two nights of star-studded line-ups on their stage, with both hosted by Chyna. Friday featured Mary Carey, Kagney Linn Karter and Melanie Rios, and Saturday had Allie Haze, Kirsten Price, Breanne Benson and Courtney Cummz doing their thing. New Jersey’s Bourbon Street featured the “Deviant” duo of Alexis Texas and Teagan Presley, and the expo’s official hotel, the Sheraton Edison hosted a trio of events all weekend. Friday night was the “Back to Jerzey” Official VIP After Party, hosted by Gianna Michaels and Ron Jeremy, with DJ Licious spinning the tunes once again. Gianna cruised up to the hotel in one of the DeLorean from the Back to the Future movies with a Marty McFly lookalike, which was captured by a sea of media.

Saturday night, an “Alan” lookalike greeted fans and VIPs who attended The Hangover XXX After Party hosted by Digital Playground contract star Riley Steele, and the legendary Lisa Ann. Select party-goers were handed cameras to catch the evening’s events (in case steps needed to be retraced), and the popular NJ band, The Replicants cranked out the tunes for the sold out crowd containing a who’s who of the adult industry.

Sunday night, Joe Trivia presented “Are You Smarter Than a Porn Star?” trivia where hostesses Tasha Reign and Kagney Linn Karter of LA Direct Models showed off their knowledge. Then a plethora of stars took part in Porn Star Karaoke for the show’s official wrap party concluding the over 36 hours of non-stop entertainment and parties composing EXXXOTICA New Jersey.

Exxxotica NJ Settles Up Just in Time

November 2, 2011, Secaucus, NJ - The lawsuit involving the town of Secaucus, New Jersey and Exotica New York, LLC stemming from their 2008 event originally planned to take place in that city, then abruptly canceled, has been resolved amicably. The adult-themed expo was moved to the New Jersey Exposition Center in Edison, NJ with less than a week’s notice, has remained there since, and is now entering its fourth year at that venue with EXXXOTICA New Jersey scheduled for November 4th through the 6th.

By entering into settlement of this matter, Exotica New York, LLC and the Town of Secaucus have not admitted to any liability or to any wrongdoing or to any violations of state or federal law or to a rule or regulation, and that the basis for the settlement between the parties is purely economic so as to avoid protracted litigation and further expenditure of costs and attorneys fees. However, Exotica New York, LLC continues to peruse claims against the Meadowlands Convention Center’s owners, Hartz Mountain and management company, SMG.
