On hearing the term ‘Pornsaint‘, you would be forgiven for thinking that it was one of William Burroughs’ ‘cut-up’ terms like ‘soft machine’ and ‘blade runner’. To the artist Francesco D’Isa, who originated the phrase, it means exactly what it says: “…the pornsaint dwells in the house of the saints, but got there travelling a different way, and came in knocking at another door. If the saint, in a way, obtained the absolute by clambering up on God (any God), the pornsaint obtained it climbing over man. “
