Here is the list of the top 100 movies on HotMovies along with how they’ve moved on the list in the last 30 days.
Porn stars, as the old thinking goes, are people who either couldn’t cut it in the mainstream entertainment industry, or people who were at best marginal in society. Those of us in the industry know that this is bunk. The fact is that now, more than ever before, some of the best actors in porn are crossing over into mainstream entertainment.
In the bad old days, a stigma was placed on people who performed in adult entertainment. In the 21st Century, a world were people have apparently awakened to the fact that sex is a normal part of life, actors of all stripes are judged on the only thing that matters in show business, their talent. A recent article by a mainstream news organization, Policymic, shows how actors like Sasha Grey, Katie Morgan, and Ron Jeremy demonstrate that the American public has come to accept porn stars for their talent and charisma, and not to judge them for doing something that is a natural part of life.

The fact is that Grey easily crossed over into the public eye without so much as a blink, and rightfully so. She has charm, great looks, and an ease that makes people comfortable. Those are things that the public expects out of their icons.
And we don’t even need to discuss Ron Jeremy in great detail. “The Hedgehog” has created a brand that is the envy of marketing executives everywhere. Jeremy proves, almost single-handedly for a period of time, that porn stars can capture the public’s imagination with a blend of self-deprecating charm and overwhelming personality.
As this crossover continues, it wouldn’t surprise us to see more stars crossover from the adult world to the mainstream. They have the skills. Now they also have a society that accepts them openly.

I wonder if Bill Gates every thinks about all the positive contributions he’s made to the fapping community.
Today I’m suffering from quite a bit of sleep deprivation and running some monthly reports. (so forgive me if I ramble)
I like to keep my eye on the ball and see what everyone is watching. See if there are special someones I should be aware of, trends, etc.
It’s really quite boring working in porn, unless you like data. Luckily I do like data.
I run Google Analytics reports on my sites, export the data into CSV, open in Excel and massage the information to get the feel of the Interwebs pervvy underbelly.
I’ll take the most uniquely viewed porn stars, turn them into an html table and share the info you you fine people.
Normally I do this through a series of concatenation and substitution formulas.
D1=substitute(a1,6666666,b1)| E1=substitute(D1,999999999,C1) | = concatenate(C1,D1)
It sounds kind of awkward and time consuming, but realistically it only takes a few minutes of cutting and pasting.
I could write a program to do it, but then I don’t get the ‘feel’ that I like from actually creating the reports.
I might miss out on some nuances that would be taken for granted if only presented with a list of names.
But I digress – the reason for today’s post – nested substitutions in Excel are amazing and simple.
instead of manipulating each column and then reprocessing the data, I can easily do it all at once with nested substitution.
I don’t know why I never thought of it before. But I’ve been running these reports and others like it for 10 years.
I guess because they are so easy to do anyway I never put the extra thought into how it could be better.
So here’s my new formula:
