‘Who won?’ you might ask. The simple answer is Elegant Angel. Elegant Angel, The Miramax of porn (sorry for the backhanded compliment Miramax), stole the show with… a lot of awards. I would give you the specific amount, but it would take an eternity to sift through seemingly endless categories like Best Three-Way Sex Scene, Boy/Boy/Girl and Best Vignette Release (both won by, who else, Elegant Angel).

Here are some of the big winners:

Best Feature
Portrait of a Call Girl, Elegant Angel Productions
Portrait of a Call Girl

Best All-Sex/Vignette Series
The Bombshells, Elegant Angel Productions
The Bombshells

Best All-Girl Series
Women Seeking Women, Girlfriends Films
Women Seeking Women

Also, let’s not forget about the people who make porn what it is – the stars! Bobbi Starr took home Female Performer of the Year, Asa Akira took home an assload of awards (not literally… maybe literally) and Joanna Angel took home a bad case of the clap. Just kidding.

She already had the clap.

Just kidding.

Maybe.

SOPA-stop-online-piracy-act

An excerpt from the AVN article regarding this matter:

“‘Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif, San Jose) added amendments about pornography and referred to the CEO of Pink Visual (Alison Vivas) as someone she’d like to call in as an expert witness to help craft some of the SOPA regulations on pornography,” wrote Blue. “Pink Visual is known for being at the forefront of pornography and technology, with the first cloud storage for porn, the first iPad porn app, an API and more.”

No argument about Pink Visual’s role as an innovator, but as far as Lofgren mentioning Vivas as a possible expert witness, it never happened, and neither did she offer an amendment on pornography. That singular task was undertaken by Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo., pictured), whose amendment, had it not been voted down, would have exempted copyright-infringing porn sites from being targeted for takedown by the Attorney General.

The amendment language read, “CERTAIN ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS PROHIBITED IN THE CASE OF OBSCENE OR PORNOGRAPHIC WORKS—The Attorney General shall bring no action, and no public resources shall be expended under this section, for the purpose of protecting any intellectual property right pertaining to a work whose contents are pornographic or obscene in nature.’”

………………………..

Now, let’s put this into layman’s terms…

Representative Zoe Lofgren, Chair of the 34 Member California Democratic Congressional Delegation, and Representative Jared Polis, Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Colorado’s 2nd district, apparently believe that Adult Industry media should not be helped by SOPA if passed, because the majority of pirated materials online are pornographic. Representative Polis states that his amendment does not infringe on the rights of pornographers, but instead intends to make sure the Attorney General’s Office is not using tax payers’ money to focus on benefiting the Adult Industry.

The article above is slightly unclear on whether Rep. Lofgren opposed Rep. Polis’ amendment or not, but her live response shows a more solid opinion. She states, “I think not supporting this amendment is going to be kind of hard to explain back home…” Considering every legal pornographic company within the United States also pays taxes along with those business Rep. Polis calls “legitimate”, it becomes hard to understand who’s tax dollars are the subject of this conversation.

Regardless, congress voted down this amendment. SOPA, if passed without further legislature intended to single out the Adult Industry, should be used to combat the piracy of Adult Industry media online.

James Franco making porn documentary on Kink.com

Actor James Franco made a porn fool of himself last night on Conan, in a good way. The hot commodity talked about a misguided sex tape escapade in his youth, mentioned his high regard for the talent porn performers bring to the screen, and also said in passing that he is making a documentary on alternative sexuality producer and San Francisco Armory owner, Kink.com, whose founder, Peter Acworth, bought the historic building in 2006.

Screech… back up. What was that?

“I’m making a documentary about pornography,” he told O’Brien. “There’s this amazing facility in San Francisco. It’s at this old armory and they do everything in house, they build their props in house, so I’m making a documentary about that.”

Sweet.

As AVN (and a few others) have reported, Franco will soon be seen in a based-on-a-true-story movie titled Cherry co-penned by adult performer Lorelei Lee that was shooting up in S.F. in May, and we hypothesize that they may have spent a few days shooting scenes at the Kink Armory, which would explain, as IndieWire.com reported, “A tweet from Kink.com actress Rain Degrey from June 26 read: ‘Kink.com is all aflutter today because James Franco is here shooting his new movie. All these girls want to f*ck him! lol.’ However, the tweet was later deleted.”

Regarding his impression of porn performers, Franco told O’Brien, ““Those people in pornos, they’re great performers. They’re selling it to an audience.” He added, of the sex tape, “My girlfriend and I didn’t know that, so there was just this weird movement. That’s not sexy at all. That’s really, like, boring.” This is not the first time Franco has weighed in on porn star’s unique ‘marketing’ skills. In January, he again spoke about porn performer’s ability to “sell it.”

If he’s really making the Kink.com doc, it’s a safe bet it will not be boring.

AVN contacted Acworth about the documentary and heard back from him in late afternoon. “Kink is very excited about the prospect of working with James Franco,’ he said. “The details are still being ironed out, but we’re very much looking forward to it.”

So are we!

Adult Videos on Demand - MILF Magnet 6Lexington Steele enjoys the sexual company of women; a wide age range of women. In today’s release of the all-interracial MILF Magnet 6, Steele indulges in the affections of four, busty, so-called “older” women, some familiar and some new to the scene.

Starring an impressive cast of women who ooze experience and prove that older means bolder; Michelle McLaren, Shay Fox, Friday and Karen Fisher all appear with three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year and Mercenary Pictures owner Lexington Steele.

While McLaren and Friday have both had the Lexington Steele experience, Fisher and Fox are first-timers to working with the international award-winning actor/director in MILF Magnet 6.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Michelle McLaren recently in Lex Steele XXX 14. The response to our first scene together demanded that I shoot her again. Friday made perfect sense because many have not seen her in awhile and this is a big breasted MILF series,” Steele said. “But the newcomers to my videos — Shay Fox and Karen Fisher — took to working with me extremely well. In fact, I can’t wait to shoot them again. I always look forward to the unadulterated enthusiasm and smoldering sensuality that women like these bring to a video.”

Steele credits the growth of the MILF genre in adult to female performers like the ladies showcased in MILF Magnet 6.

“For a very long time, the adult industry was obsessed with young girl and just out of high school types of titles,” Steele reflected. “Girls like Michelle, Karen, Shay, and Friday have increased competition for the same amount of available work. I’ve always loved women this age and shooting every new MILF Magnet is a pleasure most men will never understand.”

Casting.xxx First .xxx domainAttention porn fans and adult industry members, a new dawn has risen over our wide web world. The first .xxx domain has officially been registered, designed, and pushed live.

Given multiple .xxx domains under ICM Registry’s “founder” program, Casting.xxx is registered under a company named Really Useful. Although ICM had published about.xxx as a corporate url, Casting.xxx is the first porn site to utilize a highly debated .xxx domain name. It is very interesting how little can be found on the Really Useful parent company, based in the Turks and Caicos Islands. One would expect an internet company, granted “founder” status on one of the most controversial domain extensions in history, to have much more online representation. Yet, not even a Wikipedia page stands to identify them.

Two year old MetaCert.com has been named as the standard .xxx site classification service. This service will act as both a search engine link censor for users, and the proverbial .xxx ban hammer for domain owners.

“Rather than create yet another proprietary technology that ties customers into using our plug-ins, we decided to help instigate the formation of a new industry standard for classifying and labeling content on the Web. This new open standard is now called POWDER. Our platform and all of our products are based on this new open standard – enabling browsers and search engines to highlight certificates inside search results.” – MetaCert.com

The definition of proprietary software is a licensee being given the right to use software under certain conditions, but restricted from other uses, such as modification, further distribution, or reverse engineering. Since registering and maintaining an adult site on .xxx requires use of MetaCert.com‘s web classification services, there is little difference between proprietary software and their self-adopted description. This move also doubles as an intense link-building strategy, taking advantage of organic search result pages directly.

MetaCert.com‘s chairman, Salesforce.com chief scientist JP Rangaswami, intends to “make money in part by selling privacy policy certificates to site owners inside and outside the porn business for half the price of TRUSTe.” In other words, he intends to undercut the privacy certificate market by 50% to boost initial sales and remove another middleman.

Both the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) and Larry Flynt have made their opinions of .xxx well-known. The FSC has adopted “.XXX is Bullshit” as a campaign slogan, and Larry Flynt has reportedly written to ICM demanding protection of the Hustler trademark. Flynt’s battle could define how the near future of .xxx will play out. If granted automated protection by ICM, many trademarked adult industry companies may keep their hands clean of .xxx all together.

Porn star, and former Charlie Sheen Goddess, Bree Olson, has come forward to ABC News on the topic of The Tiger Blooded Space Warlock himself. Olson stands firm in protecting Sheen from any further media slander, but does not extend the same loving courtesy for her sister goddess, Natalie Kenly.

Natalie “Natty” Kenly, is a poster-girl for Cali Chronic X Magazine, a marijuana magazine. She was also recently named “Chronic Girl 2010″. Bree Olson details the “thick” atmosphere within the Sheen manor between Kenly and herself. In previous interviews picturing Olson, Kenly, and Sheen, Kenly had stated their precarious love trio simply “worked” for them. Olson’s statements of Kenly crying daily do not paint the same picture.

I implore you, the reader, to stay unbiased after watching this video. Although even I lean toward believing Bree Olson‘s statements specifically focusing on Natalie Kenly, her incessant protection of Charlie Sheen is still very peculiar. I do not rule out that “Beauty and the Beast” is possible, but to imply Charlie Sheen has never done drugs is a blatant public relations decision. One that perfectly aligns with Bree Olson‘s plans to attempt moving into mainstream acting.

Bree honey, didn’t you learn anything from Sasha Grey? You don’t actually have sex with the cocaine addicted movie star, you just act like you did on a mainstream HBO television series.

There has been a lot of buzz recently surrounding the new Anchorman XXX Parody, and things have heated up even more since the set was visited by FunnyorDie.com’s Hal Rudnick. Hal took some time to ask the Anchorman porn parody’s stars what parts of the original Anchorman movie were there favorites. Once those questions seem to fall on distracted ears, Hal turns to the hot topic issues of today.

“In Anchorman: A XXX Parody, top notch anchorman Ron Burgundy (Jack Lawrence) moves his roots from San Diego to the fine trappings of Los Angeles — and he brings the entire Channel 4 News Team with him. In an effort to restart their once stellar careers, the gang and their fearless leader must join forces with the ever-popular Veronica Corningstone (Tasha Reign) and her all-female news team. NBC’s new series “The Playboy Club” hasn’t even aired its first episode, and some people already want it off the air.

First, NBC’s Salt Lake City, UT affiliate, KSL-TV, refused to air the show, saying that their station is “completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand.”

Now an anti-porn foundation is determined to shut down the show completely

“What’s shown in ‘The Playboy Club’ is not real—Playboy definitely damages people. It’s pornography, it’s sex trafficking and it exploits women,” the founder of Pink Cross, ex porn actress Shelley Lubben, tells FOX411.com. “The series looks like it’s all cute, taking place back in the old days—it seems harmless, but then they show a quick clip of three people going at it in the bathroom. NBC is breaking the law with this show—they’re not meeting FCC standards.”

The nonprofit group Morality in Media agrees.

“We’re launching a big effort with our web site, closetheclubonnbc.com,” Dawn Hawkins, executive director, Morality In Media, tells FOX411.com. “We’re asking supporters to sign the pledge to and to contact their local NBC affiliates and ask them not to air the show. And as soon as we discover who is sponsoring the show, we’ll ask our supporters to contact them as well.”

Hawkins charges that “The Playboy Club” glamorizes pornography. “We know now, years later, that pornography is very harmful to society. It leads to addiction in children and adults, increased sex trafficking violence against women—and ‘Playboy’ is really the root of all of this. We just don’t want to see it glamorized any further, which it will be if it’s aired on NBC.”…….

Command Cinema - Cecil Howard's FoxtrotPHILADELPHIA – HotMovies.com announced this week it will re-release Command Cinema’s golden age of porn blockbuster, Foxtrot, on Monday June 20th, making the movie available to customers on an ongoing basis for the first time.

The sexy New Year’s Eve-themed masterpiece, directed and produced in 1982 by Command auteur Cecil Howard, originally aired on HotMovies in time for 2011 New Year’s celebrations and stayed on the site for the month of January in limited release. Prior to that, like most of Howard’s work, it had been off the market for two decades.

“Foxtrot was an enormous hit when it first came out and its first time around on VOD,” said Howard. “But I know a lot of people never got a chance to view it. I thought it was time to put it out there for all time for all to see. Plus it’s great to expand what has become a tremendous partnership with the people at HotMovies.”

Screenwriter Anne Randall’s intelligent screenplay is loaded with payoffs preceding the countdown to the New Year. It provides the vehicle for ten luscious superstars enveloped in 13 remarkable and explicit acts of love, all of which prompted Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano to call it “far and away the best adult film of the year” in his January, 1983 review of Foxtrot for High Society Magazine.

Winner of 10 awards from various panels including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Actor, Foxtrot’s cast reads like a who’s who of golden age stars: Penthouse centerfold Marlene Willoughby and AVN Hall of Famers Samantha Fox, Vanessa del Rio, Tiffany Clark, Sharon Mitchell, Ron Jeremy and Veronica Hart lead the all-star cast. One particularly notable scene pairs HotMovies Spokesman Jeremy with Hart in a steamy explosion of lust.

“I’m stoked we have the opportunity to offer this classic full time,” said HotMovies director of business development James Cybert. “It’s one of the true strengths of our site that we are the only place to find Howard’s work, which influenced the way porn is made to this day…at least, the good porn.”

Howard plans to continue unearthing further lost classics for HotMovies in the near future. The next month-long limited release, October Silk, will heat up the site as the sun heats the skies this summer. Produced by Howard with direction by the late, great Henri Pachard, Silk is the true original sequel to the Command classic Babylon Pink, which also spawned extremely successful sequels in Babylon Pink 2 and Babylon Pink 3.

The HotMovies studio team can be reached at 800-611-MOVIE.

At 1 p.m. yesterday in Los Angeles, California, members of the Free Speech Coalition, health care representatives, and Cal/OSHA met to discuss the draft rules for proposed mandatory condom use in the Adult Industry. What they were not counting on were the 70 porn stars who also attended to make their voices heard during the discussion. In a meeting decorated with plenty of yelling and screaming, proposed language of the draft itself was the main focus. After wording has been approved, the following draft rules could later go to Cal/OSHA’s Standards Board for review, and possibly become new regulations.

“Cal/OSHA topics to be discussed at the meeting include; STI testing protocol; required use of condoms and other barrier protection (including gloves and eye protection); on-set hygiene; systems for medical services, post-exposure evaluations and follow-ups; vaccinations (HBV and HPV); performer training and education; record-keeping; and producer responsibility for compliance.”
- XBIZ

If 70 Adult screen personalities are willing to attend these early stages of mandate discussion, do not be surprised if their numbers grow as the process continues. Although the proposition sounds as if it is only for the actors’ and actresses’ safety, the decision to mandate such a personal choice could become a much larger issue within our country. We will continue to keep an eye on how these proceedings play out.

(AP) LOS ANGELES (AP) — Porn performers in California would be required to use condoms in sex scenes if draft rules from state workplace safety officials advance out of the proposal phase.

Cal/OSHA officials provided the Associated Press with a 17-page draft proposal that contained sometimes graphic details of the bodily fluids, waste matter and other materials that porn actors must protect themselves against to avoid infection.

The draft is to be discussed at a public meeting in Los Angeles on June 7 and would later go to the state’s Occupational Safety & Health Standards Board for a ruling on whether it becomes part of state code.

The seven-member body is appointed by the governor and tasked with rulemaking to ensure safe and healthy workplaces in the state.

The draft says porn producers must provide and require “use of condoms or other barrier protection to prevent genital and oral contact with the blood or (any other bodily fluids) of another person.”

The draft specifies that condoms can’t be reused, cannot be expired, or used with multiple partners. Performers wouldn’t be allowed to share razors under the rules. And employers would have to keep sex toys clean.

The producer would also have to ensure that body areas contaminated with bodily fluids are cleaned between sexual acts with the same or different partners under the draft rules.

The draft also makes rules for employers to provide medical services and follow-up for all employees who have been exposed to possibly infectious materials. The draft also calls for sex workers to be provided with vaccines for human papilloma virus and hepatitis B.

Employers would have to provide showers to performers and follow rules on how laundry contaminated with human fluids must be handled.

The proposed change in rules comes in response to a complaint filed in 2009 by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, calling on the state to require condoms in porn.

Since the complaint, Cal/OSHA has been meeting with stakeholders to discuss implementing a more specific rule.

Cal/OSHA has said they always believed porn performers fall under the same section of state workplace safety law that requires nurses to wear protective gear to spare them exposure to blood-borne and fluid-borne illnesses, but the law has never been made specific to porn sets.

The AIDS advocacy group has called for the use of condoms in porn, saying that actors were in unsafe situations and they glamorized risky sex for audiences.

Vivid Entertainment founder Steven Hirsch has said that such moves could force filming to leave California, causing a blow to the multi-billion porn industry that has many operations in the San Fernando Valley.

Hustler Video head Larry Flynt has said audiences don’t want to see actors using condoms because it interrupts porn viewer fantasies with a reminder of disease prevention and birth control.
