Porn star politicians are nothing new. Remember when Mary Carey made the run against “The Governator” for California’s top spot? Yes, she lost, but it was a fun race for a while. Now Italy has a couple of interesting races for mayor positions and one of them features two porn stars running for the city’s top spot.
According to the Daily Caller, the race has featured some interesting “town hall” type moments, including a dance-off between two of the aspirants.Yeah, imagine being able to pick a president or senator based on performance on the pole, not in the polls!

Here’s what is happening.
Luana Borgia, Milly D’Abbraccio and Amandha Fox are running for mayor. Fox and Borgia are running for mayor of Taranto, and D’Abbraccio is running for mayor of Torre Del Greco. Both cities are in Southern Italy. Fox has won an online poll to become the candidate for the Awake Party. Observers say that her performance in a dance off probably greatly helped her candidacy.
This isn’t unprecedented in Italy. Hungarian-born starlet La Cicciolina won a seat in Italy’s Parliament while she was still making scorching hot porn flicks. Apparently, Italians like a little spice in their politics. No word yet on the Vatican’s opionion of La Cicciolina’s performance in the legislative body. However, it’s likely they didn’t approve of her professional background.
But voters are approving of the performance all around!
Does any of these porn star politicians have a real plan to govern?
Hell yes, and the Fox plan sounds like she’s trying to make a fun town. According to the Daily Caller, Fox has a well developed platform, no, that means she has a political plan. It includes:
- She starts by booting heavy industry that pollutes out of town.
- She talks about creating a “Puglian version of Atlantic City.”
- She wants to spur tourism with new hotels, casinos, restaurants and nightclubs.
- She wants to create “Taranto Sex.”
What is “Taranto Sex?”
Now this is a platform position that porn star politicians everywhere should adopt. Fox wants to host a twice annual sex festival and convention in Taranto. If that doesn’t spur voter turnout, nothing will.
It is uncertain whether Fox even has a shot at winning the mayoral position, much less whether or not she could enact such a bold plan. But imagine going to the voting booth and having the opportunity to vote for clean air, expanded hedonism, and a regular sex festival.
