Linda Lovelace - Malin Ackerman and Olivia Wilde

Since our last visit into the world surrounding the life and times of legendary adult video actress Linda Lovelace, it seems two budding Hollywood hotties have set their sights on her silver screen portrayal. Although, no Deep Throat competition will be deciding which actress takes this role. With two different mainstream films focusing on Miss Lovelace’s harrowing tale, it will be a director’s duel that decides who’s biographical porn drama busts first.

A bit of a historical wrap-up seems in order. Out stepped Lohan, there’s a surprise, and in stepped Malin Akerman for Matthew Wilder’s version of the Linda Lovelace story. Ackerman, best known for her role as Laurie Jupiter in Watchmen, was called upon almost immediately after Lindsay Lohan was unanimously decided to be too much of an insurance risk for Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.

Now, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are joining the fray with a screenplay based on Eric Danville’s book “The Complete Linda Lovelace”. Set to hit the screen in 2012, around the same time as Matthew Wilder’s rendition, this film has reportedly gained interest from both James Franco and Kate Hudson in regards to the roles of Chuck Traynor and Linda Lovelace. There is little information surrounding either of their interests at this point, but the Lovelace role seems to be intentionally left open for Cowboys VS. Aliens star, Olivia Wilde.

“It would be a tremendous honor. It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman–with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating. I’m being very careful about my next project since I’m now in a position where I can really be picky–thank god.” – Olivia Wilde

Rumors have only pegged Olivia Wilde and James Franco as possible members for the Epstein/Friedman cast, and Matthew Wilder still may have an ace up his sleeve with crossover adult actress Sasha Grey. Grey is casted as Lovelace’s friend Paula, and has multiple recordings of her readings up on YouTube. Having an actual adult actress on set may give Malin Ackerman better guidance for how to play her role. Not to mention the added validity Wilder’s film absorbs from the perceived “porn star stamp of approval.” As shooting wraps on both of these sets, things are bound to heat up approaching 2012.

Which Linda Lovelace will you support?

As you all know, Lindsay Lohan had been walking on thin ice for quite some time concerning her lead role as Linda Lovelace in Matthew Wilder’s Inferno. After being granted a one day pass from Betty Ford clinic and failing to meet with the film team, Wilder voiced thoughts of possibly replacing Lohan. Well, I believe the age old phrase is “you reap what you sow,” because Matthew Wilder has done just that.

Lindsay Lohan has now been officially removed from the lead role in Inferno, and replaced by none other than Malin Ackerman. Most of our readers would recognize Malin as the Silk Spectre in Watchmen or as Liane in Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.

“Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion – and hers,” says the film’s producer, Chris Hanley. “For herself and her career in general it was really her decision to just focus on getting better psychologically. Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task,” says Hanley, “and we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge.” – PEOPLE

The decision to drop Lindsay Lohan from the film was made relatively easy by her overall current situation. Lohan‘s rehabilitation has not only been extended to at least January 3rd, but she has been moved to a “sober living facility” affiliated with the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Chris Hanley has also made mention of insurance being very difficult to obtain for Lindsay. If only The Parent Trap was real, and Lohan had a real sensible, talented twin sister.

For the first time since Lindsay Lohan‘s court ordered admittance to rehab, Inferno Director Matthew Wilder has alluded to the possibility of having another actress play Linda Lovelace.

Through thick and…well, thick, Matthew Wilder has stood steadfast behind his decision to cast Lohan for the lead role in Inferno. Until recently when he made comment to concerning a “Plan B” that would be implemented if Lohan cannot shoot the film. Much of this talk has stemmed from a day pass Lindsay was granted by the Betty Ford center. Instead of using the opportunity to meet with Wilder and his team, she returned to Hollywood for one day without tending to her responsibilities.

“You know we have been through a lot with this project, and although she is still our number one choice – we do have a Plan B if she cannot film ‘Inferno.'” – Matthew Wilder

Lohan is not scheduled to be released from rehab before January 3rd, 2011.

Is there a record for “Fastest Current Event Adult Parody”?

If not, AVN may want to bring it up as a new yearly award idea. Hustler has wasted no time, and possibly been the first studio to shoot a film by going back in time via DeLorean, in parodying the most recent of Lindsay Lohan‘s social tragedies.

Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California for violating her parole. The very same prison that once housed her fellow female rebel starlet, Paris Hilton. Due to gross overcrowding in the Los Angeles jail system, Lohan may only actually serve closer to two weeks. L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore has commented that nonviolent prisoners only do about 25 percent of their sentence. Good behavior by Lindsay Lohan has dropped her sentence down from 90 to 51 days, and the extra 25 percent would be knocked off from there.

“The hardcore parody, titled Hustler’s Untrue Hollywood Stories: Lindsay Goes to Jail, has hit the internet less than 24 hours after Lohan started her sentence for violating her probation. Porn starlet and Lohan look alike Scarlett Fay plays a crying, bitchy Lindsay as she is sentenced in court before starting her stretch behind bars. She does her best to persuade the male judge to let her off lightly – but he still sends her to prison. The spoof Lohan also uses her charms to get on the good side of the female prison officer.”

In an interesting twist of legal and medical events, Lohan has been receiving her legitimate prescription for Adderall while behind bars. Considering her parole violation was drug related, it’s confusing why an amphetamine would be given freely to a young lady who is on her way to a rehab clinic upon her release from jail.

Adderall – The combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take the medication more often, or take it for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor. If you take too much dextroamphetamine and amphetamine, you may find that the medication no longer controls your symptoms, you may feel a need to take large amounts of the medication, and you may experience symptoms such as rash, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, irritability, hyperactivity, and unusual changes in your personality or behavior. Overusing dextroamphetamine and amphetamine may also cause sudden death or serious heart problems such as heart attack or stroke.” Pub Med Health, US Government

Adderall may be a sanctioned FDA drug in use for treating ADHD, but it should not be taken lightly. Adderall has been reported to have “speed” like effects by users. College campuses around the nation have been inundated with underground sales of the drug to students. Students use Adderall to stay awake for long periods of time to finish course work.

Despite Lindsay Lohan‘s current brush with the law, she is still scheduled to shoot Matthew Wilder’s “Inferno“, the story of classic adult film actress Linda Lovelace.

Lindsay Lohan Inferno Script Leaked

“Lindsay Lohan has signed on to star in Matthew Wilder’s Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, about the first porn star to earn mainstream recognition. We got our hands on the script, which is downright harrowing.

As you might expect, the story is full of sex and filthy language — but there’s also shocking violence. You’ll find child abuse, three orgasms, two beatings, intense humiliation and a bloody car crash — all in the first 32 pages alone.” –

The leaked script images seem to be legitimate. The situations highlighted are all true stories from Linda Lovelace‘s life and career. The author of this article seems to be solidifying Lindsay Lohan‘s statements concerning Matthew Wilder‘s concept for Inferno.

I am glad Wilder isn’t pulling punches when it comes to the graphic events in Lovelace’s life. Utilizing Lohan as a star in this film could have very easily prompted Wilder to create a “Mickey Mouse” version of the tale. Fortunately, I think we all know Lindsay has cut ties with the child marketing rodent. Playing Lovelace will force Lohan to relate her own experiences with a controlling parent to Linda’s childhood under an extreme mother. This may not be very difficult, but the maturation consequences will be.

What will be difficult is imagining the mutation of Lovelace’s controlled childhood into her addiction for emotional and sexual abuse. In true Freudian style, Lohan will need to convince the audience that her sexual preferences are a result of Lovelace’s mother’s practices in parenting, rather than purely deviant and lustful. This will undoubtedly be the key in transforming Inferno from the widely pre-conceived “Parent Trap porno” to a brave re-telling of an adult entertainment legend’s true life story.

In success or failure, this is still a better step for Lohan than “Paris Hilton-ing” it up all over Hollywood. Although, this film still holds every possibility from “avant-garde, mature film heaven” to “reality TV hell” for her future on-screen career. The signs are looking good thus far.

Linda Lovelace AutographLindsay Lohan is making her support and defense for Inferno public.

Recently Lohan spoke to Australia’s “Sydney Morning Herald” and stated:

“The way that Matthew (Wilder) wants to shoot it is not vulgar. It’s not about the raw sex and the shots of her fully nude. It’s more about getting into her psyche and seeing how scared she was. That’s what I want to show most in the film.”

“People are going to say: ‘Oh, Lindsay Lohan is doing a porno.’ But it’s not like that. I’ve never played someone’s true-life story before. A lot of the other movies I did were just brainless for me. So it’s nice to play something where I’m able to experience all these different emotions.”

Although Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, is convinced that playing Linda Lovelace will end his daughter’s career, Lindsay seems to be standing her ground and defending her most mature acting endeavor to date.

Now, i’m not exactly what you would call a “Lindsay Lohan fan”…but this is giving me more respect for the child actor turned media bad girl.

The behind the scenes story of Linda Lovelace is one I believe will make a very interesting main stream film. Given Lohan’s current state in public opinion, I also think this is the perfect way to both capitalize on her bad girl persona and show off a new depth in acting ability. If she were to give in to “because Daddy says so” at this age, something would be amiss. Not to mention that we already know how great of a father and husband he has the history of being from Lindsay’s musical career.

Lohan’s strength in defending this role should only bring her closer to her character. Lovelace endured a lot of mental and physical abuse during her adult career. It would be naive to say that she was anything but “strong”. If what Lindsay says about Matthew Wilder’s vision for Inferno is true, this film will spotlight both actresses’ strength in a way many have never seen before.
